Help with GST registration in Surat for traders, service providers, and e-commerce sellers.
GST registration gives a business its GSTIN on gst.gov.in. Traders, freelancers, and manufacturers in Surat usually come to Kagzi Documents when a buyer will not pay without a GST number, or when turnover has crossed the limit. We prepare the application. The tax department issues the number.
Do you need it yet?
For suppliers of goods in Gujarat the normal threshold is Rs 40 lakh of aggregate turnover. For services it is Rs 20 lakh. Some businesses must register even earlier: certain inter-state suppliers, sellers on e-commerce platforms covered by the law, and casual taxable persons. If you are under the limit and nobody is demanding a GSTIN, say so. We would rather tell you to wait than to take on return filing you do not need.
The file the portal expects
PAN and Aadhaar are mandatory. The place of business needs a rent agreement or ownership proof, plus a utility bill. If you already hold a Gumasta certificate, use that trade name on GST. The same spelling should later appear on Udyam if you register as an MSME. A food business adds FSSAI on top; GST does not replace it.
After you apply
Watch the portal for a clarification notice. Reply within the time it states. When REG-06 is issued, that certificate is the paper many banks accept as evidence of firm name, unless their checklist names a different document.
